Mall Maverick GA4 Series: GA4 is coming - we’ve got you covered.

Mall Maverick is excited to be transitioning from Universal Analytics to Google Analytics 4 to offer you more detailed reports for your websites! Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is the latest and newest version of Google Analytics, which was introduced in October 2020. It is a completely new version of Google Analytics and will be replacing the previous versions as of July 1 2023. 

In the coming weeks we will share with you more insights and resources for you to use to prepare yourself for the coming change to GA4 for your shopping and  retail center websites.

What do I need to do?

The update to GA4 will be made to all Mall Maverick websites by our team. Mall Maverick has you covered and will be taking care of this transition to GA4 at no cost to you, our valued Clients.

Universal Analytics will be discontinued from July 1st, 2023. After this date, you will be able to access historical data via Google Analytics for at least six months.

*Please ensure that your team downloads any historical data needed for your website reporting before this date. If you need access to your website’s Google Universal Analytics please open a ticket with our Support team and we will be happy to provide you with access. We will require a gmail account in order to provide access.


What can I expect from GA4?

EVENT-BASED TRACKING

GA4 offers some of the latest tracking tools for your website.  GA4 now focuses on event-based tracking. 


What is an Event?

An event is the user’s interaction/activity with a web page element embedded on a website such as clicking a button, downloading a file and so on!  Event-based tracking means your website reporting will provide much more insightful detail. 

The reporting interface has also been completely redone,  so there will be a learning curve to get familiar with the updates, and our team is here to support you if there are questions. There are many other important changes with GA4, stay tuned for more details coming soon.
